LEADERS IN SUSTAINABLE STRETCH

Eclipse Textiles recognise Climate Change and are very aware of the environmental impact our industry has on the planet. We also understand and appreciate that we play a crucial role for our customers to target a closed loop system.

All of our decisions moving forward over the past few years in particular have been driven by the best sustainable choices that are currently available to us. Our mills are also on the same journey; therefore not all of our products are where we would like them to be at this stage. We are working through it and are determined to hold the leading sustainable stretch fabric stock service range in Australia.

Our development team are always having conversations with our suppliers asking what certifications they have, do they run on green energy, what is their water wastage process and what products we currently purchase can be converted to Recycled or Bio-based yarns. Sometimes just starting that conversation with our mills is just as important for global awareness, which is also triggering their own sustainable transition.

Our Marketing department have also started rolling out across all stationary where we can to a Recycled Paper stock printed with vegetable based inks and a carbon neutral process. The items that have transitioned are marketed accordingly and easy to recognise. The items still in the old style will be updated as they are re-printed to avoid wastage.

The majority of our fabric samples are also now manufactured locally in Australia. The perfect recipe to support local businesses and at the same time reduce our carbon footprint. We even go as far as recycle our own paper in-house and re-use plastic packaging for internal and supplier communications where we can.

As we are the proud Australasian distributer of Carvico and Jersey Lomellina fabrics we are part of their Sustainability Commitment program. They have also been implementing some fantastic innovative environmental policies aimed at creating a truly sustainable supply chain and contributing to the creation of a circular economy model:

There are many conversations in the background within the company regarding supporting closed loop systems, green energy offices, recycled plastic for our fabric rolls etc… These are all big changes to roll out across a corporate level but are at the forefront of our minds to drive the change our industry needs.

As this awareness is been driven from the ground up, we feel confident that we are not the only ones asking these questions and these conversations will drive the change we all need so we can strive to be as sustainable as we can. It is a journey that takes time to transition but we are well underway and are excited that we are making quick progress in the right direction.
We believe we can make a difference and hope you can join us!
